Staying agile and having fun in a highly regulated industry
3Shape is a Danish technology company on a mission to improve people’s lives by changing dentistry together with a wide range of stakeholders including dentists, orthodontists, and dental laboratories. Even though we have grown exponentially, we are still in love with our start-up spirit and informal working style – a perfect fit for Agile.
Medical Devices are highly regulated – the industry standards dominated by “old school” mindsets (e.g. Waterfall) – yet we have found a way to retain our culture and thrive. Today we will give you 3 key take-aways: lessons learned on how to stay agile and have fun, even if the rest of the world doesn’t want you to.

Jens Østergaard who was one of the first Certified Scrum Trainers (CST) worldwide and the first Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) worldwide. Jens also conducted the first ever public Certified Scrum Master (CSM) in Denmark, in 2004. You can read more about Jens on his website at http://www.houseofscrum.com
Scrum was designed for a single team to be able to work at its optimal capacity while maintaining a sustainable pace. In the field, it was found that as the number of Scrum teams within an organization grew, the optimal output (working product) and velocity of those teams began to fall (due to issues like cross-team dependencies and duplication of work). It became obvious that a framework for effectively coordinating those teams was needed in order to achieve linear scalability. Scrum@Scale is designed to accomplish this goal via its scale-free architecture.
By utilizing a scale-free architecture, the organization is not constrained to grow in a particular way determined by a set of arbitrary rules; rather it can grow organically based on its unique needs and at a sustainable pace of change that can be accepted by the groups of individuals that make up the organization.
Scrum@Scale naturally extends the core Scrum framework to deliver hyper-productive results across industries and disciplines, including software, hardware, services, operations, and R&D.
If you are arriving by car, then sadly the spaces are limited and we do not offer any parking facilities, but the 3Shape is located just next to Kongens Nytorv Metro st.
During the event we will serve food and drinks.
We are looking forward to seeing you.
